History

2003

The history of the establishment of the USU Hospital began in 2003 with the submission of a project proposal for the construction of the Health Research and Diagnostic Center (PPDK) of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) to the National Planning and Development Agency (Bappenas) which was then revised into a proposal for the Construction of the USU Teaching Hospital (RSP).

2004

Received a recommendation / support from the Minister of National Education (Mendiknas) to Bappenas to establish USU RSP. Finally the USU RSP Development proposal was approved and included in Bappenas planning (Blue book, Code No: P- 04.11.1.03.0405.67).

2004 - 2006

The recommendation/support of the Minister of Health (Menkes) to the USU Rector to establish USU RSP was obtained in 2005. In the same year, the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) offered a loan to build RSP USU and then the loan for the construction of RSP USU was approved on February 1, 2006.

2009 - 2011

PT Waskita Karya was appointed as the executor of the RSP USU construction on July 19, 2009. The construction of the USU Hospital lasted from 2009 to 2011. A proposed procurement plan for medical equipment, non-medical equipment, and staffing was also developed. The Department of National Education (Depdiknas) allocated a number of civil servants to be placed as staff at USU RSP.

2011 - 2013

Carry out the procurement of medical equipment/non medical equipment of RSP USU and prepare a program plan and operational budget for RSP USU.
