Mission
Developing science and technology in an integrated manner between various branches of medical and health sciences and other supporting sciences.
Improve the quality of education of doctors, specialists and other health workers as well as the quality of health services based on international standards.
Objectives
In order to achieve the vision and carry out the mission, the objectives that USU Hospital must achieve are formulated, namely:
- Organizing a teaching hospital to expand and overcome the limitations of the hospital network that is used as a teaching hospital in North Sumatra;
- Increasing the contribution in the implementation of government programs to meet the needs and distribution of General Practitioners and Specialist Doctors in Indonesia;
- Increase the credibility of medical education and other health fields to produce graduates who are of higher quality, able to provide better health services and can compete in the Disruptive Era (Industrial Revolution 4.0);
- Organizing quality, affordable, and adequately allocated health services for the underprivileged, so as to improve the image of health services;
- Developing science and technology through integrated research between basic medical science, clinical medical science, public health science, and other related disciplines; and
- Increase the independence of USU Hospital in the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
Strategic Objectives
The objectives of USU Hospital that have been set above and based on the results of the 2019 USU Hospital Self Evaluation are described in ten strategic goals, namely:
- The development of a strong commitment to realize the vision;
- The development of a good hospital governance system that gets international recognition on an ongoing basis;
- The implementation of services, education, research and community service based on accreditation standards and evidence based;
- Implementation of a world-class learning system rooted in improved local excellence;
- The creation of TALENTA-based academic excellence with international standards;
- The implementation of an improved and integrated management based on information systems and information technology;
- The realization of a green, quality, safe and friendly hospital as an academic hospital;
- The internalization of the BINTANG character in the entire hospitalia community and educational staff;
- Internalization of a culture of empathy and community service; and
- The creation of hospitalia and education personnel who are able to compete at a global level.
