USU Hospital Accreditation

The accreditation survey by the Hospital Accreditation Commission (KARS) at Universitas Sumatera Utara Hospital (USU Hospital) conducted a hybrid accreditation survey from November 1 to 4, 2022. The survey activities were led by the Head of the KARS Surveyor Team, Drg. Ricky Marscello Rasyid, MARS.

This survey aimed to improve hospital services and increase public trust in healthcare service delivery, in line with USU Hospital's motto of maintaining and improving quality, safety, and friendliness.

In his opening remarks, USU Hospital's president, Dr. Henry Salim Siregar, Sp.OG (K)-FER stated that USU Hospital had achieved 8 out of 13 quality improvement indicators based on the National Quality Indicators (INM).

"There are 13 indicators in the National Quality Indicators (INM) for patient quality and safety. USU Hospital has achieved 8 of them within the past three months—July, August, and September—leaving only five indicators yet to be met," said the President Director.
USU Rector Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., emphasized that USU Hospital, with both educational and public service functions, is committed to meeting hospital standards. He hopes that the accreditation assessment will further encourage the USU Hospital community to dedicate itself to humanitarian services and enhance healthcare delivery in Medan.
"Much effort is required to meet hospital standards, especially since this hospital serves dual roles—as an academic and public healthcare institution. I hope this accreditation process motivates the USU Hospital community," said the Rector.
